Fortnite: Where to Plant Timed Explosives (Covert Ops Challenge)

In Fortnite, The Origin has finally given us the final Covert Ops mission, and while it may seem easy at first, this one is a bit more complicated than it initially seems, but we’ll get to that later, as we need to first, as always, establish an uplink of the device. This time, we can choose between the river north of Rocky Reels, the western entrance to Tilted Towers, The Fortress, or Command Cavern. This is where to plant timed explosives in Fortnite.

Pick your poison, scroll down, set up that uplink, and you’ll hear The Origin has a new mission for you: It wants you to blow up a bunch of Imagined Order gear so hopefully they can’t do whatever it is they’re doing with that doomsday device we’ve heard so much about, and we’ll be able to get that sweet, sweet Secret Sledge pickaxe for ourselves.

There are a total of three explosives that we must place, and there are more than enough places to choose from; Each of the areas that we uplinked the device to should have some points marked on the map. Some of them can be quite hard to spot, so make sure you are close to important IO equipment like big computers, the airships, or the fortress. There are also several locations in the Command Cavern, but make sure you keep an eye out, as the NPCs in these areas can be aggressive. Avoid or eliminate them, and keep an eye on your map for exclamation points, as well as the distinctive white glow that objective markers give off. If you’ve found one, you’re in luck; the others should be relatively close and easy to find.

Once you have planted all three explosives, The Origin will contact you to congratulate you on proving you have what it takes, as well as thank you for potentially turning the tide in the battle against the Imagined Order. Go to the lobby once you are done to receive your prize; Secret Sledge Peak, in all its multicolored splendor.
