Wednesday April 26, clue and solution - New Style Motorsport

Welcome to another installment of Wordle, where someday we’ll run out of words, but that won’t be until 2029 or so, according to the world list the New York Times uses with over 2000. And by then I think we’ll forget what we already was used.

I wouldn’t consider today’s word the hardest, but since I’m not the smartest person in the world, it took me five tries. I guess I didn’t screw up my guesses too much, though, and there are certainly Wordle rounds I’m less proud of. I’m curious to see how others do with today’s puzzle. I’m recovering from a Wordle streak that I broke a few weeks ago, but things have been going well since then.

Today’s Wordle #312 Answer and Clue

Before I continue, I’ll start this with my usual spoiler warning that no, you shouldn’t read on if you don’t want to know the answer for whatever reason. If you’re here for a lead, I guess that’s something I can do. When I finish this puzzle, I will have done this, to give you the answer.

And the answer is…

shown!

It’s not the hardest word, but I guess there are some formatting issues that might trip up some people.

I started with my usual CRANE which was not fruitful this time. That just gave me the N somewhere in the rest of the word. From there I made KNOBS, which could be doorknobs or a British slur. That was a good guess with no repeating letters at least, and it got me the O in the right place, along with the S. From there I guessed STOMP, which showed me it started with an S, but I forgot to put an N in there at somewhere. Then I risked it all with SWOON and double Os, which allowed me to put the N on the end. From there I was SHOWN and the rest is history.

We’ll see what tomorrow brings, but I’m fairly satisfied with that despite all five guesses. Until then.
