The body of a 10-year-old Wisconsin girl was found a day after she was reported missing.
The remains of Liliana “Lily Peters” were found Monday around 9:15 a.m. in a wooded area near a Leinenkugel Brewing Company walking trail in Chippewa Falls.
No suspects have been arrested in connection with the fourth grader’s death. Police are investigating the death as a possible homicide.
Lily was last seen leaving her aunt’s house on Sunday night, according to police. They think she was on her way to her house, but she never showed up. Her father called the police around 9 pm to report her missing.
Police began searching for the girl Sunday night and eventually found her bike near a wooded area next to a trail near her aunt’s house. When their initial searches failed to find the girl, she turned to additional law enforcement units, including K9 teams and drones, for help.

Police search teams reportedly went door-to-door on Sunday night looking for 10-year-old Lily Peters after her father reported her missing.
Police requested additional resources to assist in the search, including K9 units and drones.
Lily’s body was finally found Monday in a wooded area near her aunt’s home.
