The Titans and Warlocks have their representatives in Commander Zavala and Ikora Rey, respectively, but the Hunters have been left without a leader since Cayde-6’s death in the destiny 2 Abandoned expansion since 2018. As such, destiny 2 Fans have been searching for potential candidates for the Hunter Vanguard position ever since. While there are some suitable candidates in the form of characters like Crow and Ana Bray, other top hunters like Shiro-4 and Lady Efrideet haven’t returned to destiny 2.
Today, Google Stadia shared a trailer for the Guardian Games 2022 event, featuring a brief introduction for all three classes in destiny 2 as expressed by their representatives. Titans got a line from Zavala and Warlocks got one from of destiny Ikora Rey, which makes sense, but Hunters ended up getting a voice line from an unnamed character, which has fans excited that this could potentially hint at the new Hunter Vanguard. The character states that hunters often don’t get the appreciation they deserve, which could be a hint that Ana Bray will become a Hunter Vanguard in the future.
This is because the line “We don’t always get the appreciation we deserve” is something Ana used to say when she was still a vendor on Mars after the release of the Warmind DLC. The voice also sounds the same. But it’s worth noting that Ana Bray’s voice actor changed in Season of the Worthy, which could mean either Ana Bray will return to a more prominent role and lead the Hunters or someone else will. A likely candidate, based on how similar the voice sounds, is DestinationIt is Lady Efrideet. This might also make sense given recent events in destiny 2‘s Season of the Risen involving Lord Saladin.
Still, this year’s version of destiny 2The Guardian Games underwent a lot of changes that will make it more memorable as an event, regardless of the fact that the Hunters finally get a new Vanguard. However, that would be the icing on the cake for many fans of the game, even those who don’t necessarily play as Hunter. story developments for destiny 2 are always interesting, and this would be a great one indeed.
