201,000 migrant apprehensions set all-time record for border arrests in April - New Style Motorsport

The apprehension of immigrants entering the U.S. illegally between ports of entry along the Southwest border set an all-time record for April arrests, as agents apprehended more than 201,000, according to unofficial U.S. sources. The US Customs and Border Protection report also reveals consecutive months in which Border Patrol agents apprehended at least 200,000 migrants.

A source operating under the U.S. Customs and Border Protection umbrella revealed to Breitbart Texas that Border Patrol agents apprehended just over 201,000 immigrants who crossed the border illegally in April between ports of entry. CBP reports going back to the Clinton administration show that the previous high for April apprehensions was just over 180,000.

Reported April apprehensions are slightly lower than March, when agents apprehended more than 221,000, CBP reports indicate. The consecutive months of more than 422,000 migrants represent a nearly 20 percent increase over near-record levels last year. During the same two months in 2021, agents detained just over 352,000.

At the current rate of apprehensions, Border Patrol agents apprehended approximately 6,900 migrants every day for the past two months. If these immigrants were placed in a newly built city, it would have a larger population than Arlington, Texas, located in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex.

Although only slightly, the Rio Grande Valley Sector remains the busiest of the nine Southwest Border Patrol sectors, the source revealed. Agents in southeast Texas apprehended about 41,600 in April.
